Stamped concrete repair in Pittsburgh

Stamped concrete repair is usually more about the surface than the slab. Most tired patios have faded color and failed sealer on top of concrete that's still sound, so a good restoration can bring them back for a fraction of what a new one costs.

What can be restored

Blending in a crack

Cracks don't disappear, but they can be made hard to find. Pattern joints help here, as a crack that falls in a groove can be colored to look like part of the design. Cracks that cut across a stone take more work. We fill with a flexible sealant, dust it with color and brush it into the texture. It's done by hand, and the result depends on the light, so it's fair to ask to see an example.

When restoration will not hold

If the surface is breaking up across large areas, or the slab has sunk, a tint and sealer won't help for long. Salt damage is the usual cause of a flaking top layer. A stamped concrete overlay can fix surface damage on a level slab. For a slab that has moved, the answer is lifting or replacing the panels. Keep your restored patio in shape with regular stamped concrete sealing.
